PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a hot dip metal coated steel strip which is capable of preventing occurrence of ripple defects and excellent in surface appearance, and a continuous hot dip coating device for manufacturing the steel strip. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the hot dip metal coated steel strip, the steel strip is continuously immersed in a coating bath in a hot dip metal coating bath, pulled upwardly from the coating bath, and the coating metal deposition is adjusted by blowing wiping gas on the coated steel strip from a wiping nozzle installed above the coating bath. An auxiliary nozzle is provided above the wiping nozzle, the counter flow to the rising flow of the wiping gas is fed by blowing gas over the entire width of the steel strip from the auxiliary nozzle, and after the gas is blown on the steel strip, the steel strip is kept for at least 1.0 second in the temperature zone of the steel strip temperature of≥420°C.
