PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition for prewashing, which has high detergency and high washing durability even in dilution in a low concentration when soaking and washing is carried out as a pretreatment in washing by an automatic dish washer. SOLUTION: The tableware detergent composition for washing before mechanical cleaning comprises (a) a sulfonic acid type surfactant containing a 10-15C alkyl group, (b) a sulfuric ester type surfactant containing a 8-16C alkyl group, (c) a surfactant selected from an amine oxide type surfactant represented by specific general formula (1) and a betaine type surfactant represented by specific general formula (2), (d) an alkylpolyglycoside type surfactant represented by specific general formula (3) R<SP>10</SP>-(OR<SP>11</SP>)<SB>c</SB>G<SB>d</SB>and (e) a magnesium salt in specific ratios, respectively.
