PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric dust collector capable of effectively obtaining much discharge current in a limited volume and having a high dust collecting performance. SOLUTION: The electric dust collector comprises an electrified portion for generating a corona discharge by forming an opening 11 on a discharge plate 52A and a plurality of protrusions 10 on an end surface of the opening, and in the electrified portion, a distance from a top end of the protrusion to the end surface of the opening facing it is increased in 1.5 times or more that between the discharge plate and the grounding plate, and thereby the end surface of the opening facing the top end of the protrusion hardly interferes with an electric field in a vicinity of the protrusion to improve a dust collecting performance.
