A portable terminal having dual camera modules and a continuous photographing method using the same are provided to increase the number of photographed frames twice and reduce frame intervals in half, thereby easily obtaining a desired still image with high-quality by photographing a subject with high speed. A portable terminal(100) comprises the followings: dual camera modules(110) which are closely arranged with each other and individually photograph a subject; and a control unit(120) which controls each camera module(110) to photograph the subject by turns in a continuous photographing mode. The each camera module(110) comprises the followings: a camera sensor(113,123) for converting the optical signal of the subject into video data; a lens(111,121) for focusing on the subject in the camera sensor(113,123); a shutter(112,122) for performing opening/closing operation for photographing the subject; a shutter operating unit(114,124) for operating the shutter(112,122); and a video processing unit(115,125) for processing the video data.
