Disclosed is a method of laser welding a valve assembly 2 into the neck of a keg 1 in which a laser is shone through a laser transparent portion of the keg neck 1 to provide heat bonding at the interface between the neck and the valve assembly 2, the valve assembly being opaque to laser light. The keg may be intended for the storage of beer. The keg may be of a type which is opaque to normal daylight, thus avoiding the light degradation of any contained beer. |
