An open lamp detection circuit of an LCD backlight inverter is provided to detect whether the LCD backlight inverter is damaged or opened by comparing a reference voltage with a voltage generated in an open-lamp state. An open lamp detection circuit of an LCD backlight inverter includes a reference voltage applying unit(20), a detection unit(10), and a control unit(30). The reference voltage applying unit(20) includes a reference voltage variable unit(21), and a temperature compensation unit(22). The reference voltage variable unit varies a reference voltage according to a change of an input value of an LCD backlight inverter circuit. The temperature compensation unit has a thermistor of which resistance is changed according to the temperature of an LCD backlight lamp, and compensates the reference voltage. The detection unit detects an abnormal current which flows on the LCD backlight lamp. The control unit detects an open-lamp state of the LCD backlight lamp and protects the LCD backlight inverter circuit by comparing the voltage of the reference voltage applying unit with the voltage inputted from the detection unit. |
