The main application P 3642179.0 describes a filter being provided downstream of a brown coal coke reactor for catalytic NOx separation, with the aid of which filter it is possible to effectively separate off NH3 slip gas by adding a portion of acid coke to the gas stream upstream of the filter in a reaction section, this acid coke originating from the reactor for SO2 removal connected upstream of the NOx reactor. In order further improve this process, according to the invention it is proposed that the flue gas (1), after an SO2-removal plant, is fed in whole or in a part-stream, with addition of ammonia (3) to an NOx-removal reactor (2) operating with brown coal coke and, by means of fresh coke (5) which is added to a reaction section (4), the residual SO2 and NH3 slip are removed in the downstream precoat filter (6), some of the coke separated off in the filter (6) being returned in the circulation (7) to the reaction section and the excess coke (8) being conveyed to the power station boiler for combustion. <IMAGE>
