<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently supply electromagnetic energy to a position indicator and to form a plurality of loop circuits using a part of a sense part. <P>SOLUTION: This position detector is characterized by providing the sense part comprised of: a plurality of conductors arranged in parallel so as to be orthogonal to each other; a selection circuit which sequentially selects optional conductors of the sense part; the position indicator which indicates positions on a display panel and radiates electromagnetic wave so that induced current is generated to the conductors; a loop circuit for supplying electromagnetic energy formed by the plurality of conductors of the sense part and switching elements so as to supply the electromagnetic energy to the position indicator; an AC current supply means for supplying AC current to the loop circuit for supplying the electromagnetic energy; an electromotive force detection circuit for detecting magnitude of electromotive force generated in each of the selected optional conductors; and a coordinate detection means for detecting coordinates on the display panel indicated by the position indicator on the basis of a signal from the electromotive force detection circuit, and forming a plurality of loop circuits for supplying the electromagnetic energy near the display panel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
