<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink for inkjet recording, excellent in glossiness and image clarity, when printed on paper for exclusive use, while keeping a satisfactory high printing density, to provide an aqueous dispersion used for the ink, and to provide a method for producing the aqueous dispersion. <P>SOLUTION: This aqueous dispersion for the inkjet recording comprises an aqueous dispersion of water-insoluble polymer particles containing a colorant, wherein the water-insoluble polymer particles are obtained by mixing at least two kinds of water-insoluble polymer particles (A) and (B) of which the average particle diameters are different from each other, the polymer particles (A) have the average particle diameter of 70 to 200 nm, the polymer particles (B) have the average particle diameter of 15 to 110 nm, the average particle diameter of the polymer particles (A) is larger than that of the polymer particles (B), and a difference between the average particle diameter of the polymer particles (A) and the average particle diameter of the polymer particles (B) is not less than 10 nm.
