PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar battery which is improved in the sealability when an electrolyte layer is composed of a liquid or semisolid gelled electrolyte. SOLUTION: The bipolar battery 11 has: a single cell element 30 in which a single cell 20 in which a cathode active substance layer 21, the electrolyte layer 22 composed of the liquid or semisolid gelled electrolyte, and an anode active substance layer 23 are laminated in order is pinched between a pair of current collectors 31, 32; and a flexible armoring material 40 in which a sealing part 43 to seal the single cell element and conductive parts 41, 42 contacting the respective current collectors are provided.
