PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of controlling light quantity on an imaging surface without deteriorating resolution. SOLUTION: The imaging device comprises: a luminous flux splitting means 103 which is disposed between a photographing optical system and the imaging surface and splits luminous flux passing through the photographing optical system and proceeding to the imaging surface in accordance with deflection directions; a focus detection means 112 which outputs a focus state signal based on the luminous flux split by the luminous flux splitting means; and an extinction means 116 which is disposed between the photographing optical system and the imaging surface and eliminates a prescribed deflection component, wherein the extinction means can relatively rotate with respect to the luminous flux splitting means and can control the light quantity on the imaging surface in accordance with the rotation positions.
