<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear alkylphenol derived detergent substantially free from endocrine disruptive chemicals. <P>SOLUTION: The lubricating oil composition displaying reduced endocrine disruption response comprises a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity and a detergent comprising an unsulfurized alkali or alkaline earth metal salt of a reaction product of (1) a ≥10C olefin whose >80 mole % is a 20-30C linear n-α olefin, <10 mole % is a <20C linear olefin and <5 mole % is a ≤18C branched chain olefin, and (2) a hydroxyaromatic compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
