PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for winding a magnetic tape, which is excellent in the planarity of the surface facing the magnetic tape of a flange. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the reel for winding the magnetic tape, which is provided with a cylindrical hub part where the magnetic tape can be wound around the outer periphery and a disk-like flange overhanging from the outer periphery of the hub part in a radial direction and provided with an opening on the center part, includes a process of welding the hub part and the flange by using ultrasonic vibrations. The flange is provided with a plurality of ribs for welding and a plurality of pedestals alternately arranged along the inner periphery and a gate mark forming a part of the inner peripheral surface of the flange. When the rib for welding arranged closest to the gate mark among the plurality of ribs for welding is defined as the ribαfor welding, the height of the pedestals A15a arranged on both sides of the ribαfor welding among the plurality of pedestals 15 is higher than the height of the other pedestals B15b.
