PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device for remodeling for preventing rainwater from infiltrating toward the inside of a room from between its existing lower frame and a remodeling lower frame when remodeling an existing sliding door. SOLUTION: This sliding door device for remodeling has the existing lower frame 56, a pair of existing vertical frames 59 and 60 and an existing upper frame 62, and is formed by arranging a sash window in a remodeling sliding door frame installed in a state of being fitted in an existing sliding door frame 63 installed in an opening 54 of an opening part 53 of a building, and has the remodeling lower frame 69 installed in the existing lower frame 56, a pair of remodeling vertical frames 70 and 71 supported by the respective existing vertical frames 59 and 60 and a remodeling upper frame 72 supported by the existing upper frame 62, and has a sealant 70 for the lower frame for sealing a part between its remodeling lower frame 69 and the existing lower frame 56 in an indoor side part of the remodeling lower frame 69. When remodeling the existing sliding door, infiltration of the rainwater toward the inside of the room from between its existing lower frame 56 and the remodeling lower frame 69, can be prevented by the sealant 79 for the lower frame.
