The tubular polymer shrouding in at least a single layer, for foodstuffs, is shaped by co-extrusion. The composition of the outer layer in relation to the mixture mass is 98.5-73.0% of a polyamide base, 1-25% of a hydrophilic polymer forming a coarse dispersed phase in the polyamide base, 0.03-0.12 mol. of liquid softener per 100 g of hydrophilic polymer of starches and the like, with a boiling point temperature at normal pressure below the temperature of the material on leaving the extruder.
