It is possible to improve accuracy of tracking correction and focus correction while assuring stability of tracking correction and focus correction during data recording/reproduction onto/from an optical disc. Before starting recording/reproduction, an optical disc DK is searched so as to identify a region where mechanical distortion is generated in the optical disc DK according to an eccentric acceleration component in a tracking error signal (Ste). When data recording/reproduction is actually performed onto/from the optical disc DK, the gain in the tracking servo circuit (TS) is temporarily improved only during data recording/reproduction onto/from the region specified as a region having a mechanical distortion. Here, it is possible to surely realize a phase compensation even if the gain is fluctuated by performing a phase compensation optimal for the gain set by using the per-gain optimal phase compensation circuit (23), it is possible to surely realize a phase compensation. Moreover, for focus correction, the gain compensation and the phase compensation are performed by using the same method as in the tracking correction.
