<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor for deleting an information symbol from a read image. <P>SOLUTION: A document with an information symbol is read (S100), the information symbol is identified out of a read image (S130), the identified information symbol is restored (S150) and based on a restoration result, it is judged whether a data format of the information symbol is desired one (S160).
