PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music box control unit capable of decreasing mechanical operating sounds. SOLUTION: The music box control unit comprises a controller 21 which assigns arbitrary driving waveform data to a driving section 18, drives a music box mechanism section 19 by the driving force complying with the assigned driving waveform data, discriminates whether the state (noise and sound pressure) of the output sound complying with the assigned driving waveform data detected by a sound pressure detecting circuit 20 is satisfactory, and memorizes the information on the driving waveform data discriminated to be satisfactory together with scale data into a non-volatile memory 12.
