PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and compact apparatus for washing a box-shaped container, which is suitable particularly when used in individual farmhouses. SOLUTION: The apparatus for washing the box-shaped container is provided with: a container supporting part 4A by which the peripheral wall part of the box-shaped container turned sideways is supported and on which first roll brushes 4, 4 rotatable around backward or forward lines are arranged side by side horizontally; a single second roll brush 7 by which the inside surface of the peripheral wall part of the box-shaped container is pushed down to bring the peripheral wall part into press-contact with the first roll brushes 4, 4 and the tip of which is brought into press-contact with the inside surface of the bottom surface of the box-shaped container; a driving means 16 for rotating the first roll brush 4 and the second roll brush 7 to the optional, normal or reverse direction; and a brush rubbing means 38 abutted on the outside surface of the bottom surface of the box-shaped container for applying the rubbing action of bristles 38a. A water supplying means 40 is arranged for supplying water to places of the box-shaped container to be rubbed by the first roll brush 4, the second roll brush 7 and a brush rubbing means 38.
