<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of sufficiently removing reaction produced water while keeping relative humidity of a reaction gas passage constant even when current density of an electrode reaction surface is high, and excelling in power generation performance. <P>SOLUTION: An anode gas passage is formed between one-side separator 55 and an anode electrode, and a cathode gas passage is formed between the other-side separator 6 and a cathode electrode. Cooling passage 60 for running a cooling medium therethrough are formed between the separators 55 and 56 facing to each other in cells of this fuel cell adjacent to each other in the stacking direction. The cooling passage 60 is so formed that its passage direction is made nearly coincident with that of the cathode gas passage, and its contact area to the cooling medium in a part on the upstream side thereof is set larger than that in a part on the downstream side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
