PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a driver that an alarming situation is being generated by an effective method not depending on any additional constitution if the situation is generated during driving of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The steering device 11 for the vehicle is provided with a steering wheel 12 mechanically separated from a turning wheel; a turning actuator 23 controlled so as to generated a turning angle of the turning wheel 14 according to steering operation based on a steering angle of the steering wheel 12; and a doze sensor 29 for detecting nap of the driver. Further, when the driver's dozing is detected by the doze sensor 29, an interlocking relationship of the steering wheel 12 and the turning actuator 23 is temporarily released and the steering wheel 12 is forcedly turned to left and right sides, thereby, it informs the driver of his/her dozing at the wheel.
