PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyaminopyridines having highly efficient light-emitting performances and a method for producing them. SOLUTION: The polyaminopyridines have a recurring unit expressed by general formula (1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is H, a 1-10C alkyl, an alkoxy, an alkanoyl, carbamoyl or cyano; and R<SP>2</SP>is a fused polycyclic carbon ring group which may have a substituent, a single ring type heterocyclic ring group which may have a substituent or a fused polycyclic heterocyclic ring group which may have a substituent], and have average molecular weights in the range of 500-1,000,000, and the method for producing them is also provided.
