PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a sender to customize a data size while visually confirming a page image and the data size of image data, and to transmit data with a less amount of transmitted data through easy operation while necessary irreducible quality desired by the data sender is maintained. SOLUTION: A CPU 2001 displays the total data size of transmitted data based upon scanner-input image data at an LCD part of an operation section 2012, and the sender changes image data corresponding to a selected page of the image data through the operation section 2012. Then the total data size of the transmitted data based upon image data after change processing based upon the change setting is displayed to be confirmed at the LCD part of the operation section 2012. According to a transmission instruction, the image data stored in a storage means are changed based upon the change setting to transmit transmitted data based upon the image data having been changed.
