PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pillar structure for an automobile with enhanced strength of a side surface part. SOLUTION: A high strength member 36 is arranged between a front surface part 24 of an outer 22 constituting a pillar body 18 and a second front surface part 32 of a first pillar reinforce 28. Similarly, a high strength member 38 is also arranged between a rear surface part 26 of the outer 22 and a second rear surface part 34 of the first pillar reinforce 28. The high strength members 36, 38 are constituted by two sheets of parallel plates 40; and a connection member 42 for connecting the parallel plates each other between these parallel plates 40 and strength of outside surface deformation is enhanced. Thereby, buckling strength of the front surface part 24 and the rear surface part 26 is enhanced and bending strength of the whole pillar is also enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
