HOLOGRAM REPRODUCING APPARATUS AND HOLOGRAM REPRODUCING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram reproducing apparatus and a hologram reproducing method for improving reproducibility of reproduced data with respect to recorded data.

SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with: an irradiating means for a reproducing reference laser beam, the means which irradiates a hologram recording medium with a reproducing reference laser beam in the same optical path as that of a recording reference laser beam, when the data recorded in the hologram recording medium is reproduced; and a controlling means for a reproducing reference laser beam diameter, the means which changes a laser beam cross-sectional diameter of the reproducing reference laser beam from the laser beam cross-sectional diameter of the recording reference laser beam.
