<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve control device for an internal combustion engine capable of saving electric power by preventing useless valve open close action in a valve control device performing controlled operation to eliminate or prevent fixing of a valve by opening and closing EGR valve during stop of the internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: A start condition of "fixing avoidance operation" reciprocating a valve to avoid fixing of the EGR valve 30 is defined as timing of turn-off operation of previous ignition in which the engine 1 runs. Consequently, useless "fixing avoidance operation" in case of ignition on/off operation not accompanied by operation of the engine 1 can be avoided and waste of electric power can be prevented. Also, since "fixing avoidance operation" is performed under a condition of high engine temperature, valve open close reciprocating movement can be easily done simultaneously with start of "fixing avoidance operation" and deposit and the like can be effectively scratched off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
