PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically install a device driver of only an intended network device on a network.

SOLUTION: Identification information to be temporarily recognized by both a client terminal 100 and a network-compatible device 200 to be installed is inputted. When the identification information is inputted, the network-compatible device 200 multicast-transmits a Hello message for entry to the network describing the identification information. The client terminal 100 receives the Hello message, and shifts to processing based on UPnP when information matching with the input identification information is described. When the client terminal 100 receives a Hello message that does not include description matching with the identification information, it does not notify the OS of the message.
