<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color transflective liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing the deterioration in color reproduction due to unevenness even when a spectral characteristic of illumination light is uneven and capable of performing display of good color development and excellent visibility for both of reflective mode and transparent mode. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal display panel having pixels 615 formed of a plurality of sub-pixels 551 each corresponding to different colors and an illumination device, wherein the liquid crystal display panel is provided with a transflective layer and a color filter 522 of colors corresponding to each sub-pixels 511, the transflective layer has a translucent part of transmitting illumination light and the translucent part is formed such that the area of a light transmission region corresponding to the translucent part on at least one sub-pixel of the plurality of sub-pixels 511 is differentiated from the area of the light transmission region corresponding to the translucent part on the other sub-pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
