PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly detect an unsatisfactorily glued portion of the flap of an envelope regardless of an envelope type, in an inspecting method and device for determining whether the glued state of the flap of an envelop is satisfactory or not. SOLUTION: The sealed part of an envelope is curved in an arcuate shape while kept facing inside.
