<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back light module capable of preventing a lamp from bursting, while a liquid crystal display device is being subjected to impact test. <P>SOLUTION: The back light module is equipped with a light source and a light guide plate having a light emitting surface and side faces intersecting with the light emitting surface.
