The invention relates to a method for producing an optionally substituted 4-benzimidazol-2-ylmethylamino-benzamidine. Said method is characterised in that (a) an optionally correspondingly substituted diaminobenzol is condensed with 2-[4-(1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-on-3-yl)-phenylamino]-ethanoic acid, (b) the thus obtained product is hydrogenated, and (c) optionally the amidino group is carbonylated. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
