A petri dish for trapping a cell is provided to maintain trapped cell during transportation, inhibit leakage of liquid when the petri dish is released from a device, and maintain stable pressure state of the liquid. The petri dish for trapping the cell contains a cell-trapping portion having a plurality of absorption holes(48), wherein the biological cell-containing liquid is placed on a petri dish(40) and is absorbed from the lower position of the petri dish through the absorption holes having smaller size than the cell; the absorbed liquid containing no cell is stored in a liquid-storing portion(45) of the petri dish; the interface between the absorbed liquid and gas is positioned lower than the level of the cell-containing liquid surface; the section size of the liquid-storing portion is two times or less as high as length of a capillary tube; and the position difference between interface and surface level generates pressure difference which raises at the interface and compensates the Laplace pressure releasing the trapped cell in the absorption holes. |
