An image forming apparatus including a movable paper guide sheet is provided to prevent the paper guide sheet from being damaged when the paper guide sheet is set or detached in or from the image forming apparatus by varying the position of the paper guide sheet. An image forming apparatus includes a main body having an image forming unit and a transfer roller(280) for transferring paper to the image forming unit, and a paper loading unit(210) detachably set in the main body to provide paper to the transfer roller. The image forming apparatus further includes a paper guide device(600) which is combined with the front end of the paper loading unit through a hinge and moved between a paper supply position at which the paper guide device is moved upward to the transfer roller to supply paper stacked on the paper loading unit when the paper loading unit is set in the main body and a standby position at which the paper guide device is moved downward when the paper loading unit is detached from the main body.
