The support has a caisson and a body panel enclosing the caisson, such that the panel prolongs a vehicle roof towards the rear when the support is arranged at the rear end of a vehicle body (22). The support is shaped to receive and connect a fixed part of a hinge (16) to the body and to receive a functional equipment e.g. actuator (32), of the vehicle. A fixing unit fixes the panel to the caisson and is inaccessible from outside of a vehicle (24). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a rear module including a functional equipment such as power cylinder, actuator and camera (2) a method for fixing a rear module to a body of a motor vehicle.
