PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst allowing being inexpensively manufactured, a manufacturing method of the catalyst and a ceramic structure. SOLUTION: An oxide (Example 1) based on 5CaO-3Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>can be manufactured inexpensively because its solid-phase synthesizing temperature of 1,200°C is lower than that of an oxide (Comparative Example 2) based on 12CaO-7Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>of 1,350°C. In addition, the TG-reduction initiation temperature and the DTA peak temperature of the mixed powder of the oxide based on 5CaO-3Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and carbon black powder are lower than those of the mixed powder of the oxide based on 12CaO-7Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and the carbon black powder. It is thus proved that employment of 5CaO-3Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>as the main component of the catalyst allows inexpensive manufacture of the catalyst. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
