METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONFIGURING THE INTERFACE IN A MOBILE PACKET NETWORK

A method and a device for configuring the interface in a mobile packet network are disclosed. The method primarily includes: the entity at the end of the interface which is between the GPRS network and the mobile communication network sends a message requesting for NS-VCI information to the entity at the other end of the interface in a GPRS network; after receiving the request message, the entity at the other end returns its own NS-VCI information to the entity sending the request message. It could complete the uniform configuration management of the NSVC configuration information over the Gb interface through the messages interact between the entity at the end of the interface and the entity at the other end of the interface. The accomplishment of the invention could simplify the interface configuration of the NSVC, alleviate the workload of the configuration management personnel, and reduce the fail risk caused by configuration data errors.
