<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of poor transfer when using special paper having a low wet tension. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes; a transfer device Rt which transfers a toner image to paper passing a transfer area; a paper conveyance device Rr for upstream side which conveys the paper to the transfer area; a paper classification determination means C5 which determines that special paper which is coated with an image receiving layer made of resin and wax and having a low wet tension and has cellulose as a base is used as the paper or not; a power control means (C3C) for transfer and a paper conveyance speed control means (C7) for upstream side which set a transfer bias and a speed ratio which satisfy V<-90×r+93.8 wherein V is the transfer bias of the transfer area and r is a ratio of a paper conveyance speed of the paper conveyance device Rr for upstream side to that in the transfer area, when using the special paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
