PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a droplet ejector which keeps costs low and which does not make an ejector body larger than necessary, and a carrying-member cleaning method for the droplet ejector, which enables the removal of dried ink adhering to a carrying belt. SOLUTION: Elapsed time Tn from the final ejection of ink from a recording head to the restarting of an inkjet recording apparatus is computed, and the method for cleaning an ink stain adhering to the carrying belt is changed depending on the elapsed time Tn. Thus, since the carrying belt can be cleaned depending on the degree of the drying of the ink stain, the stain on the carrying belt can be surely removed. Consequently, holding performance for holding a recording medium by the carrying belt is not deteriorated; the recording medium is carried in a normal state; and the accuracy of a position, in which the ink ejected to the recording medium arrives, can be maintained. In addition, since another member is not provided separately from a blade so as to remove the dried stain, the costs can be kept low; and the size of the inkjet recording apparatus is not changed.
