摘要 813,537. Air conditioning apparatus. MUNTERS, C. G. July 11, 1955 [July 12, 1954], No. 19952/55. Class 137 In an air conditioning system e.g. for a room, air from the room in a duct 12 is delivered by a blower 10 through a moisture enchanger 14 in which moisture in the air is removed and the air is heated, the hot moisture being taken up by a regenerative stream of external air 20 passing through the other side of the moisture exchanger 14, the room air then passing through a heat exchanger 16 which lowers its temperature, and finally through a second moisture exchanger 18 wherein moisture from the regenerative air stream 20 is transferred to give the room air a lower temperature and a lower absolute' humidity than it had initially. The regenerative air stream 20 circulated by a blower 26, and heated by a radiator 24 before entering the moisture exchanger 14, is anhydrously cooled in a heat exchanger 32, which with the heat exchanger 16 is traversed by auxiliary regenerating air stream circulated by a fan 38 through parallel branch ducts 22, 40 respectively. A venting valve 42 regulates the rate of flow of air through the heat exchangers 16, 32. Outlet and inlet valves 28, 30 on either side of the blower 26 regulate respectively the escape and admission of used air. In a modification, Fig. 2, room air passes through one side of the moisture exchanger 14, the other side which is regenerated by the room air which takes up the moisture at a later stage in the conditioning system after having passed through another moisture exchanger 86 and the heat exchanger 16. The room air delivered from the regenerating side of the moisture exchanger 14 passes through an evaporator pad 91 and is finally delivered back to the room. The heat exchanger 16 is cooled by outdoor air which is impelled by the blower 38 through a passage 90, a valve 92 exhausting a portion of the air through an outlet 93. The balance of the outdoor air is passed successively through one side of a heat exchanger 94, a heating radiator 95 the regenerating side of the moisture exchanger 86, and finally through the regenerating side of the heat exchanger 94 to the atmosphere. In a further modification, in which the room air is circulated in the sequence shown in Fig. 1 the heat exchanger 16 is regenerated by outdoor air in a branch duct fed from the blower 38 which also feeds through another branch duct delivers air in series through the heat absorbing sides of two further heat exchangers, and then successively through the heating radiator 24, and the regenerating sides of the moisture exchanger 14 and one of the extra heat exchangers, the air then passing through the regenerative sides of the moisture exchanger 18 and the other extra heat exchanger to atmosphere. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, which is operated without a heat supply, such as the heat radiator 24, the room air duct 12 has a shunt duct 122 through which a predetermined quantity, e.g. twice the amount of air is fed back into the conditioning zone through a valve 126 where it mixes with room air introduced through a duct 124. The mixture of air conditioned in the moisture exchanger 14 and heat exchangers 138, 140 is returned to the room through the duct 12, the feed back air passing through an evaporator pad 166 and the regenerating side of the heat exchanger 140 before entering the valve 126. The blower 38 supplies outdoor air through a duct 132 to regenerate the moisture exchanger 14. The heat exchanger 138 is regenerated by outdoor air from the blower 38 which delivers it through a duct 145 for cooling a heat exchanger 146, through an evaporator pad 152 to the regenerating side of the heat exchanger 138 and then through the regenerating side of the heat exchanger 146 before being exhausted to atmosphere. In a modification of the arrangement shown in Fig. 4 in which four times the amount of air delivered back to the room through the duct 12 is fed back through the valve 126 to circulate again through the conditioning zone the moisture exchanger 14 and the heat exchanger 138 are regenerated in series by the same outdoor air delivered by the blower 38, an evaporator pad being interposed between the two exchangers. In a further modification the regenerating outdoor air having passed through the moisture exchanger 14 enters one side of an additional heat exchanger, the other side of which receives the air which has passed through the evaporator pad 152 and the heat exchanger 138, the air from the additional heat exchanger then being passed to atmosphere. Another embodiment is shown in which the regenerating outdoor air is heated, e.g. by a heating radiator, in order to reduce the quantities of air traversing the system. Specifications 770,201 and 776,071 are referred to.
