PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor in new structure replacing a capacitor in such structure that the center of a current collection plate is pressed and a capacitor in such structure that an electrode plate is joined with a current collection plate. SOLUTION: The electric double-layer capacitor 10, constituted by putting a winding body 12 in a cylindrical container 11, connecting ends 23, ..., of the winding body 12 to the current collection plate 13, and closing an opening of the cylinder type container 11 with a sealing plate 16, has a rubber material 15 interposed between a sealing plate 16 and the collection plate 13. Thus, the rubber material which presses the collection plate averagely against the ends of the winding body is interposed between the sealing plate and collection plate, so the ends of the winding body and the collection plate can be brought into uniform contact with each other. Consequently, values of contact resistance generated between the ends of the winding body and the collection plate can be lowered, and electric performance of the electric double-layer capacitor can be kept excellent.
