PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection sensitivity by a temperature detecting means and to raise saturated temperature when employing a temperature detecting method of a non-contact system. SOLUTION: In an image reading device having an optical source unit 110 providing optical sources 12a, 12b for irradiating light to an original, a CCD image sensor 17 for receiving reflected light reflected by an original, and an image information generation unit for generating image information based on the received light, a detecting unit 200a of a thermistor 200 for detecting the temperature of an optical source is disposed so as to oppose an optical source at a light collecting position of light irradiated from the optical source or its vicinity.
