An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method of manufacturing the LCD are provided to form an etch stopper without having an additional mask process and improve reliability of elements by forming the etch stopper. A first substrate(110) having a pixel part and a pad part and a second substrate bonded to the first substrate are prepared. A gate electrode(121) is formed on the pixel part of the first substrate. A gate insulating layer(115A) and an active pattern are formed on the gate electrode. An etch stopper(150) is formed on the active pattern and a pixel electrode(118) is formed on the pixel part. A source electrode(122) and a drain electrode(123) are formed on the pixel part. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. |
