An optical component includes a transparent substrate and a plurality of lenses formed of glass on the transparent substrate. The expansion coefficient of the lenses is similar to the expansion coefficient of the transparent substrate. A micro-lens array substrate includes a glass substrate, and a plurality of micro-lenses formed of glass on the glass substrate. The expansion coefficient of the micro-lenses is similar to the expansion coefficient of the glass substrate. A method of manufacturing an optical component includes a step of forming a lens formation layer(21) on a transparent substrate(102) and a step of baking the lens formation layer to form a plurality of lenses.
