PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and light-weighted controller for a bent part of an endoscopic system capable of determining a bent angle of the bent part without using a light source and reducing cost and effort in its maintenance. SOLUTION: The controller 1 for the bent part of the endoscopic system 2 calibrates the bent angleθof the bent part 4 of the endoscopic system 2 that has the bent part 4 to be curved by a motor 18 on an insertion part 3 and keeps correction data for parallelizing a drive amount of the motor 18 and the bent angleθof the bent part 4 with stored in a memory 10. The controller 1 comprises an image pickup system 5 to image the bent part 4 and to generate image data, an image processing part 7 to detect an outline of the bent part 4 from the image data and to calculate the bent angleθ, a control part to parallelize the bent angleθand the drive amount of the motor 18 and to write in the memory 10 as correction data.
