PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for predicting bone density decrease before a bone has a change in density by a highly safe method. SOLUTION: By acquiring the nuclear magnetic resonance image of an area including a flat bone or the epiphysis of the long bone and evaluating the signal intensity of a marrow area, the abnormality of a myelopoietic cell which occurs prior to the decrease of the bone density is detected.
