<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform highly efficient coding upon a moving picture wherein a luminance temporally varies, like a fade picture or a dissolve picture. <P>SOLUTION: A moving picture coding device includes a picture memory/prediction picture generator 108 which selects one combination from a plurality of combinations of predictive parameters prepared in advance and generates a prediction picture signal 212 in accordance with a reference picture number and a predictive parameter of the selected combination. A variable-length encoder 111 encodes quantization orthogonal transformation coefficient information 210 associated with a predictive error signal of the prediction picture signal 212 with respect to an input video signal 100, mode information 213 indicating an encoding mode, vector information 214, and index information 215 indicating the selected combination of the reference picture number and predictive parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
