PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate the destruction cause of a metal material, which forms break surfaces unrecognized by visual observation or an optical microscope. SOLUTION: A crystal azimuth distribution in the region of a predetermined depth from the break surface of a material to be destructed and the destruction cause of the material to be destructed estimated on the basis of the crystal azimuth distribution.
