<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer electrolyte composition used for fuel batteries, ion exchange membranes, and the like, to provide a use thereof, and to especially provide a hydrocarbon-based polymer electrolyte composition having sulfonic groups. <P>SOLUTION: This polymer electrolyte composition comprises a specific sulfonated block copolymer (A) and a sulfonic group-free aromatic polymer (B). It has been found that the polymer electrolyte composition can improve physical properties on the absorption of water, while preventing the deterioration of proton conductivity at low humidity accompanied by blending. It has also been found that a membrane comprising the polymer electrolyte composition of the present invention has higher proton conductivity at low humidity that that of a membrane comprising only a sulfonated block copolymer having the same structure, when the membranes have the same ion exchange capacity each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
