PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate sound for threating an invader from a speaker based on a detected result by detecting the invader on the side of a camera and to display audio information on the display device of a monitoring center by transmitting the audio information to the monitoring center though a conventional system outputs sound from a sound generator on a image-transmission side (a camera side) through a speaker according to the instruction of a image-receiving side (a monitor side). SOLUTION: The monitoring system is provided with: a plurality of imaging means; a transmission means for transmitting a signal output from the imaging means; and a display means for receiveing the signal transmitted by the transmission means and displaying the received signal. In the monitoring system, the imaging means is provided with: an invader detection means; and an audio output means for outputting an audio signal based on the detected result of the invader detection means, thereby outputting the audio signal from the audio output means, converting the audio signal into a video character signal and displaying the video character signal on the display means.
