PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner which has a simplified structure to fix a dust collection unit to a cleaner body and facilitates the attachment and removal of the dust collection unit to and from the cleaner body. SOLUTION: A unit arrangement concavity 22 is formed in the exterior surface of the body case 20 of a cleaner body 11, and a dust collection unit 50 arranged in the unit arrangement concavity 22 is provided with an engaged portion 500. An engaging member 505 to engage the engaged portion 500 is provided in the unit arrangement concavity 22, and an engagement releasing member 507 to release the engagement of the engaged portion 500 by the engaging member 505 is provided at the bottom of the unit arrangement concavity 22. Furthermore, a pushout member 506 to push out the dust collection unit 50 in association with the release of the engagement by the engagement release member 507 is provided in the unit arrangement concavity 22.
